A painful breakup can be one of the most difficult things in a relationship to try and recover from. It can also be one of the hardest things to not only move on from but to actually get through. When a relationship ends and one or both partners is seeking a divorce, this is usually the time when healing and recuperation from a painful breakup must begin.

One: Give yourself some space. If you are in a state of constant stress and you don’t have any place to go, it’s hard to think clearly enough to recover. Take a step away from your situation for a while, give yourself some room. You’ll be better able to think clearly come what may breakup pain. Don’t ever push yourself too hard to do anything until you are calm and you are feeling comfortable with yourself again.

Two: Seek out other women. Sometimes, breaking up with someone can make you feel so alone that it might seem like no one understands what you’re going through. If this applies to you, don’t feel lonely. There are other women out there who are going through the exact same thing you are going through, and there is always hope. Seek out the advice of friends, family, and Internet articles about breaking up or the same issues you are dealing with, and utilize it as a resource during your healing process.

Three: Do not forget your friends and family. People play a vital role in recovering from a painful breakup, especially those close to you. If you have a friend that has been through the same situation, take advantage of it and see what they are going through. Use this advice and do not be afraid to seek out help from them. They are often more than willing to share their own experiences and give you helpful advice.

Four: Get help from the support group. Although the support group of the people you are hurting is not intended to become your therapy group, they can still provide a great deal of information about your break up and recovery. People in this group have had the same problems and are experiencing the same feelings you are. They can help you through the healing process by sharing their stories and offering valuable advice.

Five: Make sure you are taking care of yourself. When you are suffering from a painful breakup, your body needs to be cared for as much as possible. This means eating properly and getting enough sleep, exercising, and spending time with family and friends. You must take good care of yourself if you expect to have success in your new relationship.
